Work Schedule: Days with Call Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours: Primarily 7:00 am to 3:00pm with rotation to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 11:30am to 7:30pm. Incumbent will rotate on call hours to meet the needs of the department to include holidays and weekends.

Summary:

To be accepted into the nurse internship program all candidates must: Be licensed registered nurse with a minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care hospital experience. Recent is defined as in the past two (2) years. Be able to commit to and work full-time for the length of the internship program. Upon completion of the program, the intern will move to their authorized hours and shifts. Commit to flexibility in meeting scheduling requirements as part of the program in order to obtain optimal learning. This involves working all shifts. The intern will not be scheduled more than (2) different shifts in a payroll week unless mutually agreed upon by management and the affected employee. Successfully complete all the classroom and clinical components and demonstrate proficiency in expected skills, meet unit level expectations. During the course of the program the nursing intern will be expected to rotate shifts, work weekends and assume call responsibilities with mentor support. The Intraoperative Services Internship will be (6) full time months in duration.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
• RN licensure in New York State required
• Must possess current BLS within sixty (60) days from time of placement.
• Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred

EXPERIENCE

• One (1) year of recent acute care hospital experience. Recent is defined as in the past two (2) years.
