Hours: 6:30am to 4:30pm
Summary:
Supervises and coordinates Surgical Services activities, including staff supervision and patient flow. Maintains focus on facilitating optimal patient flow, room turnovers and responsible utilization of resources. Has responsibility for interpretation of policy and procedures, investigation and preparation of reports relative to the improvement of nursing care, safety and personnel performance. Establishes and maintains positive physician, associate, and inter-disciplinary relationships. Collaborates with Supervisor of Central Sterile to facilitate Operating Room efficiencies, support LEAN initiatives and maintain safe OR practices. Utilizes influential leadership and motivational skills to inspire staff to achieve peri-operative initiatives and enhance the patient experience.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current New York State registration
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred
- BLS training current
EXPERIENCE - Three years Operating Room experience or minimal 2 years Operating Room experience with previous charge nurse responsibilities is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY- Ability to relate well with physicians to maximize quality of patient care

WORKING CONDITIONS- Ability to work in OR setting, masks, occasionally smells, noises
