Summary:
The Manager Government Reimbursement reports to the Director Government Reimbursement and Managed Care. The Manager is responsible for the coordination, preparation, and timely filing of the various Medicare, Medicaid, Champus cost reports, surveys, rate reviews, filing of rate appeals, determination of state and federal budget impacts on Catholic Health (CH), reviewing opportunities and the monitoring of reimbursement. The Manager assists Senior Leadership with the review and determination of governmental third party contractual reserves, portions of the annual financial audit, revenue enhancement and accuracy projects, including historical as well as newly identified initiatives. The position coordinates audits related to Medicare (cost report, wage index, etc.) and Medicaid. The position effectively communicates with Management, Department Heads and other internal customers and external ones such as Medicare intermediaries, the State Department of Health and outside consultants / auditors. This position assists with the supervision and review of special projects and operational duties assigned to the Reimbursement Department ensure the Reimbursement function meets the needs of CH executive management, finance and hospital administration.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related healthcare field
- Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) certification preferred
EXPERIENCE- A minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in health care finance
- Extensive understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, cost reports, reimbursement and financial reporting concepts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY- Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain a strong customer service focus on management, staff and external customers
- Maintains the confidentiality of all CH data
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and/or in team settings on complex projects which involve critical deadlines
- Ability to research regulatory issues
