Summary:
The Medical APP (Advanced Practice Practitioner) of Substance Use Disorder services works under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. The Clinical Practitioner is responsible for assisting the Medical Director in the administration of all medical services performed within the scope of SJC Clearview. The clinical practitioner will utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess patients and manage all aspects of patient care within their scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION Nurse Practitioner - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Maintains a current New York State Professional RN license
- Maintains Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Meets credentialing requires as appropriate through the Medical Staff Office
- Current BLS and ACLS
OR Physician Assistant - Graduate of an approved NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants), CAHEA (Committee on Allied Health Education and Accredited of the AMA)
- Maintains a current New York State Physician Assistant license
- Maintains certification
- Meets credentialing requirements as appropriate through the Medical Staff Office
- Current BLS and ACLS
EXPERIENCE - One year experience preferred in behavioral health or allied field
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY - Demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills
- Computer proficiency
- Strong documentation skills
- Demonstrates unconditional positive regard for patients
- Able to establish and maintain collegial and collaborative partnerships with medical/clinical staff
- Maintains knowledge of current best practices; educates as appropriate
