Facility: Lockport Memorial Hospital

Shift: Shift 1

Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000

Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates

Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes

Work Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours: Primary: 7AM to 3PM

Summary:

Supervises the work activities of the environmental services, Nutrition & and contracted laundry/linen staff to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions in the hospital.Coordinates activities of the Environmental Services Department, Laundry/Linen Service, and Nutrition with those of other hospital departments. Promotes, monitors and maintains a positive service culture. Coordinates, directs, & supervises department activities to include food preparation, production, assembly, service and distribution. Assist in obtaining operational goals, including but not limited to; staff training and evaluation, work assignments, purchasing and budgeting. Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with established hospital and department policies, procedures and objectives, standards for hygiene and personal appearance; CHS Mission; performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards

Mount St. Mary's consists of multiple locations and associate may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

  • One (1) year of supervisory or lead experience
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience, preferably in environmental services
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before facility associates. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
