Summary:

This position reports to the IDM division of Corporate HR and is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and managing leaves for the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA), NYS Paid Family Leave (NYS PFL), Leaves of Absence (LOA - Personal, Educational and Military Leaves), and transitions to Long Term Disability (LTD) from application to closure. This position requires knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations, and procedures for handling applicable leaves, along with the interplay of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position requires active involvement in representing Catholic Health and its affiliates in a multi-facility environment and participation on an interdisciplinary team within the IDM and HR departments that includes responsibilities for data analysis and presentations.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Associates degree in Business Admiration, Human Resources or related field required, Bachelor's degree preferred for all candidates hired after April 1, 2022

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years prior demonstrated experience in HR and/or Leave Administration
  • Excellent PC and organizational skills
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Analytical, Secretarial, and Administrative skills strongly preferred
  • Experience with multi-facility organizations and unionized environments a plus
  • Solid understanding of legal and ethical practices involving FMLA, NYS PFL, ADA, NYS Disability, Paid Sick Leave, HIPPA, and NYS Privacy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY

  • Strong Microsoft application skills including EXCEL and WORD
  • Proficient in general PC use
  • Solid knowledge and use of Infor Lawson and Occupational Health Management software applications strongly preferred
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to interpret data and draw conclusions
  • Excellent organizational and tracking skills
