Summary:
The Reimbursement Analyst assists the Manager, Government Reimbursement in functions of cost reporting and data acquisition for governmental reporting and analysis. The analyst acts as a liaison between the individual Catholic Health entities and the Government Reimbursement team and works with key contacts to produce data for reporting and analytics related to government programs. The analyst's primary responsibility will be to prepare Medicare and Medicaid cost reports using data from company general ledger and patient accounting systems. In addition, the analyst will provide assistance and insight into government reimbursement programs and opportunities for improved performance.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative/finance/health-related field required
EXPERIENCE
- At least one (1) year of analytics experience required or an advanced degree in a quantitative/research discipline
- Experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, business modeling or health care analytics/health informatics/reimbursement preferred
- Basic understanding of the health care industry, health care economics, hospital, physician and ancillary reimbursement methodologies
- Experience with third party reimbursement regulations and contract analysis of third party agreements preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Strong background in quantitative analysis, cost and product line concepts, personal computer, systems development and data modeling
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
- Proficient in Access, Excel and other analytical tools/programs (e.g., SQL, SAS, Cognos)
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, transform data into actionable information and clearly present results to management
- Attention to detail and skilled at data validation methodologies
