Bargaining Unit: Trinity Medical

Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No

Work Schedule: Days

Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Summary:

Clinical support position involving the direct participation in non-invasive diagnostic cardiac procedures including EKG's, Holter Monitors, Stress Testing and Blood Pressure Checks. This position will also require active involvement in patient triage activities and ancillary medical support functions as required.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with current NYS Licensure, OR, Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise or movement science, certification preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • BLS Certification required
  • ACLS is preferred
  • Experience with rhythm interpretation preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Proficient in computer skills, including the use of a computer (keyboarding and the mouse), Microsoft Word and email
  • Medical Terminology
  • Basic EKG interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of cardiac medications and cardiac anatomy and physiology
  • Mental and physical health sufficient to withstand strenuous activity, bending, lifting, walking
  • Hand and finger dexterity to manipulate medical equipment
  • Desire and skill to meet the needs of the outpatient
  • Continuous awareness of need for safety measures in patient care
  • Background knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Possesses organization, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of the Cardiovascular system and related office procedures is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to travel to and work at other Trinity Medical facilities and/or physician practice offices
  • May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases

  • Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
  • May be exposed to patient elements
  • Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations

  • Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
  • Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
  • Handles absentee replacement on short notice
  • May be exposed to toxic chemicals due to photocopier
  • Flexibility in scheduled working hours/days to meet needs of the practice
  • Work is performed in an office environment with normal light, heat and air
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
