Summary:
Plans, organizes and coordinates activities related to medical nutrition therapy for in-patients, out-patients for Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, Kenmore Mercy Hospital and Mount St. Mary's Hospital. This includes, but is not limited to: the development, implementation, monitoring and revision of standards of care for medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education; nutrition support guidelines; nutrition education materials for patients, residents and families; development and implementation of Performance Improvement activities focused on improving the quality of patient/resident outcomes. Responsible for the development and management of the budget related to the provision of nutrition care such as, but not limited to: Human Resources, office supplies, educational materials, enteral feedings, patient menus and between meal nourishments. Assures compliance with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Health Care Organizations (JACHO) regulatory standards for the provision of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education. This includes development and revision, as necessary, of policies and procedures for Nutrition Care Services. Works closely with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services in the development and implementation of menus for the patients. Maintain a leadership role in the selection and application of automated office systems for the Nutrition Office. These efforts are to be coordinated, where possible, with other acute care facilities in the Catholic Health System.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION:- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics required
- Successful completion of a dietetic internship or equivalent, i.e., graduate of a Coordinated Program in Dietetics required.
- Master's Degree in Nutrition or Nutrition related profession preferred
- Active registration status with the American Dietetic Association required
- Active status as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist with the New York State Education Department required
- Advanced credentialing in a Nutrition Specialty area such as Nutrition Support or Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
EXPERIENCE - A minimum of three (3) years acute care clinical experience required
- A minimum of three (3) years Administrative experience in a Healthcare field required

- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and job responsibilities required.
- Ability to meet specified time frames and demonstrate problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to manage finances for department including budget preparation and monitoring
- Mid-level to advanced level computer literacy skills involving word-processing and spreadsheet software required.
