Summary:

In conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, ensures compliance with the rules and regulations that govern the practice of Pharmacy. This position is considered the supervising pharmacist of record.

Responsibilities:

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

EDUCATION

• Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy required
• Professionally licensed in New York State required
• Current registration certificate to practice Pharmacy in New York State required

EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated experience in long term care
• One (1) year management experience preferred
• Experience in program and service development, quality assurance, medication use indicator experience, and cost containment programs
• IV clinical experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Ability to operate the following machinery such as: laminar flow hood, biological hood, compounding devices, computer systems, prescription balance, automated medication dispensing machines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong supervisory skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to convey information to department personnel in an understandable manner
• Ability to coordinate activities of multiple personnel
• Good manual dexterity
• Knowledge of math
• Computer skills
• Ability to lead Long Term Care Pharmacy staff
