Summary:
Pre-admits (pre-registers) and/or admits (registers) patients, which includes: interviewing patient to collect correct information and enter into Meditech system, prepare admitting forms, collect monies due for copay/coins/uninsured self-pay, enter authorization numbers as required into Meditech system, and performs insurance verification, complete Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire accurately. Strives to improve departmental image, demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism when working with others. Keeps work area clean, neat, and orderly. Answers telephone promptly. Follows hospital dress code each day. The employee should conduct himself or herself according to corporate compliance as in our mission statement in order to promote and protect the integrity of Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Protects resident's privacy by insuring patient charts or items with patient data with protected health information (PHI) are not left unattended or left opened. Ensures that patient's records and information are kept confidential.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- High School or equivalent required
- Associates Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE- One (1) year of secretarial/clerical experience required
- Three (3) years of secretarial/clerical experience in a physician group practice or hospital preferred
- Experience in scheduling appointments and Medical terminology preferred
