Summary:

Supervisor, Acute Care Billing and Follow Up will be the subject matter expert in supporting the staff including, but not limited to, the following items(1) State, Federal or other contracted billing and reimbursement requirements for inpatient/outpatient billing, follow up, and denials (2) Use of tools and technology in providing billing, follow up, and denial services (3) System workflows and edit resolutions (4) Directing and identifying the correct course of action and/or individuals to work with to resolve issues (5) Appropriately resolving issues for the staff as front line resource and escalating timely to the next level of management for resolution (6) Availability to the staff as a resource in addressing daily issues (7) Prioritizing work and directing work for the staff and (8) Representing one self as a role model to the staff in alignment with the culture of Catholic Health and our Values.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Associate's degree required, significant experience in acute care billing (5+ years) will be considered in lieu of a degree

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in acute care billing
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable management required
  • Experience with business process re-engineering and change management desired
  • Experience with supervising teams
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring staff

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Strong communication skills
  • Process development skills to include ability to manage departmental/area-specific projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with MS Office, most notably excel and word, preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills
