Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for providing service to home care patients who have speech/language/cognitive impairments or swallowing disorder. The SLP will provide teaching to family and caregivers as appropriate. May perform Early Intervention Program visits as approved and required.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
- Has obtained or is in the process of obtaining Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association
- State of New York license and registration required
EXPERIENCE- One year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY - Must demonstrate the ability to adapt speech therapy techniques to home/community setting
WORKING CONDITIONS- Delivers speech therapy care in home/community setting working with patient, patient's family and any other available caregivers
- May deliver care independent of any other available caregivers
