Work Schedule: Days

Hours: 8a-4p, 9a-5p, with evening/overnight and weekend support required

Summary:

Responsible for the overall operation of the multisite, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and MRI Departments. This includes the management of all clinical, financial, operational and human resource services that are involved in delivering quality diagnostic services, which includes the management of all staff scheduling, timekeeping, reporting, evaluation and other administrative duties involving personnel management. Prepares and maintains all pertinent documentation, adhering to guidelines set forth by JCAHO, NYSDOH and hospital policy and procedure.

Major tasks include, but are not limited to, three major functions: Managerial, Clinical and Mission. The Manager for MRI, CT & Nuclear Medicine is responsible to ensure adherence to department and hospital policy at all Mercy Hospital radiology sites. The manager's responsibilities include being available for afterhours support for provider, associate, and department needs as required within a reasonable time. Such reasons can include provider needs, associate call in's, weather emergencies, etc.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Successful completion of formal training in an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine
  • Associates degree required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Certified by the ARRT or NMTCB
  • Licensed with the NYS Department of Health as a Radiological Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist

EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years of clinical experience as a radiology technologist
  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred
  • If the candidate is a Radiological Technologist, must have experience in at least one radiologic specialty other than General Radiology, (MR, CT, Mammography, Interventional Radiology or Ultrasound)
  • Post-Hire Experience- Perform the duties in an acceptable manner within three (3) months

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal to cool temperature, dimmer lights
  • Frequent exposure to ionizing radiation
  • Required travel: To and from Mercy Hospital and satellites (MACC, MDTC, OLV, East Aurora), offsite management meetings and educational seminars
