Shifts are as follows: 12:00pm-8:00pm, 1:00pm-9:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 3:30pm-11:30pm
Summary:
A Special Procedures Technologist performs routine and specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and related clerical functions at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Familiar with the variety of supplies and devices used during the performance of interventional procedures. Demonstrates ability and performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnosis. Must be able to work as a team with radiologists and patient care staff.
Responsibilities include assisting the physician by scrubbing in the procedures, filming procedures and recording cases on the hemodynamic monitoring system, assisting with patient monitoring, and providing coverage on a rotating "on-call" basis. Set up and maintain the inventory control system, performance of order entry and completion of cases for accurate patient records for patient billing process and performing other duties as assigned. Assists with orientation of new personnel. Participates in performance improvement activities. They will share weekend and evening neurology call responsibilities with Cath Lab Techs on a rotating basis.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Graduate of an Approved School of Radiologic Technology
- New York State License as a "General Radiologic Technologist" and current New York State Department of Health certificate of registration as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certified)
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years previous experience as a Staff Radiologic Technologist
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Must pay close attention to detail for extended periods of time with sustained accuracy
- Has an obligation to conserve supplies, equipment, and time in a cost effective environment
