Summary:
The Payroll Services and Systems Analyst is the primary payroll resource responsible for the gross to net payroll processes for weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles. Provides tier two functional support to payroll specialists, specifically answering inquiries related to payroll issues including but not limited to payroll calculations, adjustments, system forms, etc. This position will set up and process payroll add-ins as well as posting other payroll payments on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. Provides payroll reports for internal and external audit requests.
The Payroll Services and Systems Analyst acts as liaison between the payroll department, stakeholders and COEs to ensure payroll staff understanding and implementation of payroll system requirements and revisions. This position recommends or participates in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations; assists coordinated approved changes within payroll processing system and updates affected policy/procedure manuals. Keeps payroll team informed of more efficient methods or tools available for their use. Works closely with the Manager, Payroll Services and Systems Administration, HR and IT COEs to provide training and lead testing for upgrades and system changes.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Associates degree required
- Bachelor's degree Finance, Business, Computer Science or other related field preferred; 5 years of experience in payroll in lieu of Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE- Five (5) to seven (7) years payroll processing for a medium to large sized organization experience required
- Experience with in-house, payroll related systems including UKG/Kronos, Business Software Inc. (BSI), and Infor Lawson S3 or similar software preferred
- Two (2) to three (3) years of testing, auditing and documenting system configuration
- Prior experience in service delivery role preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY- Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office software applications
- Advanced reporting skills, query building and application of queries
- Multi-systems knowledge and experience - Lawson, Kronos, Business Software Inc (BSI)
- Demonstrated success in service team contributions in a time sensitive and fast paced environment
- Knowledge of payroll operations, policies, and union contracts
- Strong process orientation
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users
- Strong customer service profile
