Summary:
The Coordinator, Integrated Disability Management (IDM) position is responsible for monitoring and aggressively managing claims leaves, and absences associated with occupational and non-occupational injury and illness from inception to closure. This position requires excellent knowledge and understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and procedures for handling NYS Workers' Compensation and Disability claims. This position also requires the necessary expertise and active involvement in representing Catholic Health at NYS Workers' Compensation Board hearings, effective interaction with Third Party Administrators (TPA's), claim reserving practices, Transitional Duty/Return to Work coordination, medical and vocational management, OSHA recordkeeping and compliance with the requirement and process of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), NYS Paid Family Leave, and other state leave programs.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Associate's Degree, seven plus (7+) years of experience in lieu of degree
- Bachelor's Degree in a health related, human services or legal field preferred
- Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS), and/or claim adjuster licensure preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of claims management or disability case management work experience required
- Claims/Case management experience within a Healthcare or Rehabilitation related work environment strongly preferred
- Human Resources and benefits related experience a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Excellent knowledge and application of current NYS Workers' Compensation and Disability Benefits regulations and practices
- Able to work independently in a highly confidential work environment in compliance with all HIPAA requirements
- Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications
- Solid knowledge and utilization of web-based reporting tools utilized by Workers' Compensation and/or Disability TPAs
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and recording
- Understanding and compliance with all legal and ethical practices involving NYS Workers' Compensation, Disability, ADA, FMLA, HIPPA, OSHA, and NYS Privacy regulations

- Office environment with frequent travel to multiple sites required
- A current / valid driver's license; use of a personal vehicle required to meet travel requirement applicable to the position
