Summary:
The Registered Professional Nurse assigned to the Clearview Treatment Unit renders professional and comprehensive nursing care to patients by assessing and treating actual or potential health problems. Functions in a multidisciplinary team setting, offering a variety of supportive services to the patients served. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation as appropriate to the ages of patients served, based on the areas of clinical practice. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital/staff information. Strives to incorporate the philosophy and mission of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and to incorporate the Hospital's goal of: Quality care, in a personal manner with total regard for individual human dignity.
Mount St. Mary's Hospital consists of multiple locations and associate may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
- Limited Permit by New York State Department of Education (Limited Permit must be completed and on file)
- Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) within sixty (60) days from time of placement.
- Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
EXPERIENCE- On the job training provided
- Previous psychology and chemical dependency experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:- Exposed to: infection from disease-bearing specimens; animal diseases, odors, bites; hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment; odorous chemicals and specimens; housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals; unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness); hot or noisy equipment
- May be exposed to: infections and contagious diseases; toxic chemicals (due to photocopier)
