Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm; schedule may flex to 8:00am-4:00pm, 9:00am-5:00pm, 10:00am-6:00pm with occasional evening 12:00pm-8:00pm
Summary:
In conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, ensures compliance with the rules and regulations that govern the practice of Pharmacy. This position is considered the supervising pharmacist of record.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy required
- Professionally licensed in New York State required
- Current registration certificate to practice Pharmacy in New York State required
EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience in long term care
- One (1) year management experience preferred
- Experience in program and service development, quality assurance, medication use indicator experience, and cost containment programs
- IV clinical experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Ability to operate the following machinery such as: laminar flow hood, biological hood, compounding devices, computer systems, prescription balance, automated medication dispensing machines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey information to department personnel in an understandable manner
- Ability to coordinate activities of multiple personnel
- Good manual dexterity
- Knowledge of math
- Computer skills
- Ability to lead Long Term Care Pharmacy staff
