Status: Full Time Facility: Sisters of Charity Hospital

Work Schedule: Days with Rotation Shift: 1:

Summary:

The SBIRT Specialist- (Temporary Position) will utilize evidence based tools to perform Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). Will provide screening and early intervention for patients with substance use disorder and patients at risk for substance use disorders. The Clinical Integration Manager will be responsible for the following outcomes: reduce utilization associated with avoidable and preventable inpatient stays, reduced utilization associated with avoidable emergency department visits and to improve outcomes for patients who may have mental health illness and/or substance use disorders. This position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the program.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Qualified health professional status preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge or evidence of training regarding the stages of human development

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two years of experience providing chemical dependency counseling, and/or counseling in an allied or related field preferred

  • SBIRT Training Certificate required

  • Experience specific to clinical/medical documentation record-keeping required

  • Good critical thinking ability
  • Ability to handle protected health information (PHI) in a manner consistent with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996and Title 42, CFR
  • Knowledge of computerized systems
  • Knowledge of local and surrounding area resources
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English; some positions require fluency in English and Spanish
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to conduct thorough and effective client interviews assessing both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Mobility sufficient to attend to client services activities in and out of the office including home visits, client appointments and other client related business

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be exposed to busy settings with inconsistent workflows
  • Working independently requires establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with all persons
