Summary:


The Practice Administrator is responsible for managing the clinical and business operations for all hospital based employed physician services for Catholic Health (CH) and Trinity Medical WNY (TM). Manages the daily administrative and clinical practice operations providing oversight, management and training in all areas of day to day practice operations and resource utilization. Under the direction of the Director Clinical Practice Management, Hospital Based Services, the Practice Administrator is responsible for coordinating services, supervision of support staff, and financial oversight. Will assist in the development of standardized policies, procedures, and changes in clinical operations, working collaboratively with the Vice President, Director of Clinical Practice Management, and Hospital Administration, ensuring patient satisfaction, process and flow efficiencies, performance improvement, quality, and financial productivity. The Practice Administrator is able to forecast resource requirement for implementation of practice goals and objectives, integration with CHS, Trinity Medical WNY Service lines and departments to provide compliance with Federal, State and Local agencies and regulations. The Practice Administrator works collaboratively with CH leadership on a daily basis to promote effective delivery of best practice and patient focused care.

Responsibilities:


EDUCATION
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required
  • BA or BS Degree with a minimum (2) years Medical Practice Management experience preferred
  • In lieu of above degree, will accept previous experience on a discretionary basis

EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) to three (3) Years medical office management
  • Experience in CPT & ICD--10 Coding knowledge and medical terminology required
  • Management experience required
  • Electronic Health Record experience required
  • Prior experience with computerized scheduling applications a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Billing & Third party payer requirements
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to adapt to various software applications as necessary
  • Prior experience with computerized scheduling applications a plus
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of medical office terminology, technology and operations
  • General knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security rules
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources Policies and Regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all related parties
  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and maintain composure while working under demanding conditions which may involve supporting multiple objectives, physicians, and satellite offices
  • Can adapt to changing circumstances
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all related parties
  • Strong telephone communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills and related software & technology including: printers and other peripheral devices and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to navigate and retrieve data from an electronic Health Information Management system
  • Ability to utilize the Internet to send email and conduct basic research
  • Basic keyboarding skills with a minimum typing proficiency of 30 wpm
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Leadership capabilities

WORKING CONDITIONS



ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed in an office environment with normal light, heat and air. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposed to a variety of electro-mechanical hazards, odorous chemicals and specimens, housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals, and unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)
  • May be exposed to: infections and contagious diseases; biohazardous, radioactive substances; toxic chemical (photocopier).
  • Subject to: many interruptions
  • Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or elements
  • Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
  • Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
  • Handles: absentee replacement on short notice; emergency/crisis situations (potential patient violence)
  • Increased pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries
  • Travel between practice sites
