Summary:


Oversee/responsible for day to day operations including staff/interdepartmental relationships, customer service, budgeting, revenue/expense management and service line development for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Areas include the M. Steven Piver, MD Center for Women's Health and Wellness, Fetal Testing Unit, L&D employed mid-level providers, and OB/GYN inpatient providers (3 sites and 25-40 providers). Work collaboratively with other departments within the hospital, as well as build collaborative relationships with similar service areas at other hospitals. Carries out responsibilities in collaboration with the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Responsibilities:


EDUCATION
  • Bachelors Degree or Graduate of an accredited 2 year business college with a minimum of 10 years experience
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of office management and supervisory experience in the medical field
  • Prior experience in the areas of inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecology and related subspecialties, and interdisciplinary collaboration with other service areas (neonatology, breast care services, medical obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, mental health counseling) preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of MS-Office based programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and ability to assist others in office and clinical computer applications (eClinicalWorks, Sorian, Sorian Financials, other software applications)Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of department personnel, physicians, families, and visitors
  • Manage the activities of a diverse group of professionals, non-professionals, and clerical associates
  • Exceptional understanding of fiscal management responsibility
  • CPT/ICD-9 coding expertise and medical terminology required
  • Ability to prioritize with a high level of organizational skill and focus
  • Ability to promote positive work environment through exquisite interpersonal skills
  • Comfort and willingness to make complex decisions
  • Ability to transcribe from dictation
