Summary:


Primary responsibility is for the implementation and supervision of the Catholic Health (CH) Laboratory Client Billing and Accounts Receivable function. Provide operational guidance and expertise for billing regulation and procedural changes as they apply to Laboratory Services. Promotes positive relationships with CH associates, CH laboratory leadership, clients and patients; supports software, hardware, and staff development initiatives established by laboratory leadership. Responsible for problem resolution and data integrity of the Laboratory Billing and Accounts Receivable functions under the general direction of the Technical Director. Provides management of the laboratory billing associates.

Responsibilities:


EDUCATION
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or Associates Degree with six (6) years relevant experience
  • Medical Technology degree preferred
  • Master of Business Administration preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) to three (3) years of healthcare or medical billing and accounts receivable experience

OR
  • Four (4) to six (6) years working knowledge of the clinical laboratory testing



KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Ability to work with the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Ability to work with the Electronic Health Record System (EHR)
  • Moderate PC skills
  • Excellent systems analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an integrated environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with billing requirements from Insurance companies and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Familiarity with EPIC/Beaker is a plus
