Performs massage therapy techniques to control pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation for patients in a healthcare facility.
Graduate from an approved School of Massage Therapy.
Current New York State Massage Therapist license.
Two (2) years' experience as a Massage Therapist preferred
Must have some experience working with the public
Skilled in deep tissue massage
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
This position requires an individual with a great deal of sensitivity to properly interact with patients and their family members.
Must be comfortable working in outpatient and hospital settings.
Ability to relate to patients with various orthopedic and medical conditions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer and business skills needed
Very detailed job, must be able to shift from one thing to another calmly.
The employee will be encountering patients that are diagnosed with orthopedic injuries, disabilities, and various medical conditions, including terminally ill patients and thus the Massage Therapist must possess the physical and emotional capacity to work with various types of patients with a variety of personalities.
Must work closely with other staff members and with manager; must be able to follow directions and be able to lift, carry, reach push/pull and perform all other massage therapy activities to carry out multiple treatments within a work shift.
