Status: Full Time

Work Schedule: Days and Evenings

Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates

Summary:


The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing clinical and non-clinical operations within PACU/ASU/PST/Endo. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the 24 hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected unit(s) of responsibility and the health care institution as a whole. The manager supports, plans, implements and evaluates the goals and policies of Sisters Hospital and the Catholic Health System.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing
  • Current Licensed Professional Nurse in New York State
  • BSN required, Masters preferred
  • Current BLS
  • Current ACLS or within 6 months
  • Nationally recognized nursing certification or within 18 months

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in nursing in the Perioperative area(s) required
  • Minimum of two (2) years in a Charge Nurse/Supervisory role within the Perioperative area(s) required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standards for Surgical Services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Performance Measure within Surgical Services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer Literacy including Microsoft Office and hospital programs

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
