Summary:

The Vice President, Women's Services is responsible for the overall system-wide coordination, integration, growth, and advancement of the Women's Service line including the areas of women's wellness, childbirth education, lactation consulting, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Labor, Delivery, Recovery Postpartum (LDRP), Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN), maternal fetal medicine, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, breast care, pediatrics, nutrition and elder care. In keeping with the system goals of achieving and maintaining standards of excellence and in co-leadership with the respective Service Line Medical Directors is responsible for leading and developing the Women's Service Line in accordance with the Catholic Health Strategic Plan.

Working closely in a co-leadership role with the Medical Director of Women's Services, a comprehensive program will be instituted throughout the System to provide high quality diagnosis and treatment for women's diseases. Critical to the success of this role is working closely with Catholic Health Administration, Hospital Administration, and Medical Leadership to effectively maximize efficiency of operational and clinical components of patient care.



Utilizing the Catholic Health Strategic Plan, and through co-leadership with the Medical Director of Women's Services, this position will be accountable for the continued development and execution of the Women's Service Line within Catholic Health through clinical standardization, definition of scope of services at each site, detail scope of practice for clinical providers and expansion of activities to increase market share. Working closely with Women's Surgery, Interventionalists, Imaging Services, Emergency Services and Medicine, the Vice President will be responsible for forging relationships to streamline triage and care of patients according to evidence based practice and a patient centric model. Participation, collaboration, and development of community-based partnerships that enhance the mission of Catholic Health to reveal the healing love of Jesus to all is integral to this position.


The Vice President, Women's Services has direct accountability for financial and quality performance, market share growth, progress assessment, and evaluation activities. As such, this position encompasses the continuum of care and includes direct-indirect and matrix relationships, involvement in the assessment and impact of in-hospital, pre-hospital, non-hospital and post-hospital course of care for patients admitted with women's disease diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Masters degree in nursing or a health related field required

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 10 years direct work experience in healthcare management at both the operational and strategic level
  • Significant work experience within a service line delivery model, using coordination of care, and specific experience in implementing strategy across multiple venues of care is strongly preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate management-represented and union-represented organizations; experience within a multi-facility unionized and management-represented organization required
  • Demonstrated track record of success in financial performance and success in a service line setting, including significant P&L responsibility strategic market share growth and revenue enhancement opportunities
  • Accomplished at establishing trust, developing strong working relationships with a range of audiences including executives and managers, physicians, business leaders, academic and community professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex physician relationships, interactions with medical leadership, formal and informal. Demonstrated physician collaboration in program development and implementation
  • Demonstrated change management skills in complex environment
  • Demonstrated business plan experience with successful implementation and operations of a clinical service/program
  • Demonstrated ability to research, plan and execute
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strategic planning and operations/infrastructure development
  • Expertise in developing and administering integrated delivery systems
  • Strong financial, analytical and data analysis skills
  • Able to demonstrate strong negotiating skills
  • Able to exhibit strong team-building, leadership, and visionary skills
  • Solid product development and product management experience
  • Ability to present and communicate well
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software applications
  • Familiarity with information systems design/operation

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs
  • Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
  • Travel is required amongst Catholic Health facilities
