Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager. Pharmacy Operations Manager, or Lead Pharmacist and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist performs technical activities including compounding, preparing, labeling, or dispensing of drugs used to fill valid/anticipated prescriptions or medication orders
Responsibilities:
Education/Experience
High School diploma or GED
Certification (CPhT) by a nationally recognized pharmacy technician certification organization required
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
Ability to effectively operate various types of office equipment including personal computers, telephones, and print/fax/copy machines)
Familiarity with metric system and various types of pharmacy math calculations
Accurate and efficient data entry skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Environment
Works in office/warehouse setting with regular trips to patient care areas
Large portion of shifts spent standing and/or walking the department and facility
Normal heat, light, and safe working environment - typical of most office jobs
Works at computer intermittently for short periods of time, inputting or retrieving data and generating labels and reports
Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions
