Summary:


Responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing, and directing all Sisters of Charity Hospital, Main Street Campus and Sisters @ St. Joseph Campus Non-Invasive Cardiac Services staff and operations in Cardiac Rehab, EKG, Stress and Echo laboratories. Establishes and maintains an environment that promotes patient and physician and associate satisfaction. Seeks opportunities to foster growth, innovation and efficiency. The Manager of the Non- Invasive Cardiac Services Department is responsible for managing and coordinating care for patients undergoing examinations/procedures in the various disciplines. Coordinates physician reading schedules and organizes physician peer review councils for Stress, Holter, Echo and EKG. Ensures fiscal responsibility for the department through accurate charge capture. Shares as a team member under the leadership and in collaboration with the Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Services for Catholic Health, the accountability for the 24 hour management of personnel, compliance with regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning, and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships with the Department of Non-Invasive Cardiology. Will develop and participate in training and provide leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the department.





Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current RN licensure in the State of New York
  • Baccalaureate in Nursing required or must be actively enrolled in BSN program with completion within three (3) years of assignment
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification or completion of course within six (6) months of assignment

EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) years of relevant clinical and supervisory experience required
KNOWLEDGE,SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Knowledge of cardiac rhythms, cardiac pathophysiology, and cardiovascular medications
  • Familiarity with most office and clinical computer applications (MS Office Suite, EKG management systems, holter, digital echo, etc)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of department personnel, as well as physicians, families, visitors, and to manage the activities of a diverse group of professional, nonprofessional, and clerical employees
  • Responds to the needs of diverse stakeholders and negotiates successful relationships among various members of the health care team
  • Possesses active listening skills
  • Planning skills to develop goals and objectives in concert with those of the hospital and implements action plans to meet those goals
  • Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvements as well as positive problem resolution
  • Teaching abilities to promote optimum orientation and continuing education of staff
  • Budgeting skills to control fiscal operations of selected unit(s) and/or area(s) of responsibility and to identify and explain variances
  • Has current knowledge of health care trends and issues and relates same to hospital and work area environment
  • Occasional prolonged standing, walking, sitting
  • Computer literate



WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Intermittent exposure to a few unpleasant physical conditions, including darkened rooms, warmer than usual temperatures, patients with infectious diseases. Will be expected to travel among various CH locations
