Summary:


Provides management supervision for training team. Plans, develops, implements, supports, and manages all aspects of IT training and education for all associates within Catholic Health (CH) and related facilities. Uses discretion to utilize vendors, Principal Trainers, Credentialed Trainers, facility user trainers, and IT Clinical Educators in conducting training exercises/programs. Project management, resource management. Recommends goals and objectives, and directs the planning, use and implementation of all IT education resources. Responsible for defining long term IT training and education and support strategies, ensuring that they tightly integrate with overall CH strategies by delegating and managing execution of the plans to achieve them. Responsible for the ongoing design, configuration, testing and deployment of the Catholic Health Electronic Medical Record and Learning Management System and related, integrated technologies. Crafts standards, specifications and policies for IT services. Facilitates performance improvement and best practices. Manages to various regulations, from HIPAA to COBRA. Strives to incorporate the philosophy and mission of Catholic Health.

Responsibilities:


EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or Health Care related field

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five (5) years professional experience
  • Minimum five (5) years in a management capacity in the computer education field implementing an integrated healthcare delivery Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and associated clinical and business application. Experience with experience administering Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Prior experience in hospital or industry as a computer applications instructor/educator; preferably with large staff, and multiple locations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop adult education curriculum and to supervise large scale teaching and training efforts
  • Experience publishing courseware using eLearning standards SCORM, AICC, HTML, XML and Captivate
  • Specific knowledge and experience with the application software products used with CH IT preferred but not required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Ability to work independently and to translate broad goals and objectives into specific teaching requirements related to curriculum development and job skills
  • Strong Leadership skills and ability to deal efficiently with all levels of hospital staff; i.e. managerial, physicians, and peers. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and forge alliances with internal- and external-facing stakeholders
  • Proven track record of delivery, project management, end user management, IT systems implementation and change management, attention to detail
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication including the ability to explain EMR and E-Learning processes and technical concepts in non-technical terms to both non-technical and technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem solving, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to tactfully negotiate multiple demands and thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
  • Proven ability to hire/ evaluate staff with various technical skills
  • Extensive computer experience, with personal computers and larger systems, and with personal computer applications, including Windows, and MicroSoft Office applications, comfort using web based applications, and social media
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic system architecture, data standards in clinical and business systems, software, syntax
  • Intermediate skills with Wireless Networking, Distributed Networks and Remote Computing, and Communications technologies

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs
  • Projects usually involve departments at several if not all campuses, therefore requiring travel between campuses
  • Position requires flexible scheduling which may include covering evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in to provide implementation support
  • Position may require routine on call assignment requiring individual to be available by phone and have access to a computer, internet access, and ability to log in. On call responsibilities may also require individual to come on site if necessary
  • Ability to successfully complete any required training and/or certifications pertinent to software support
  • Ability to travel to vendor sponsored training and user events. This may include air travel and overnight stays outside of WNY
