Work Schedule: Days and Evenings

Hours: 8a-4p

Summary:

The Pastoral Minister is a full member of the LIFE Program interdisciplinary team. This position will provide for the spiritual and emotional needs of the LIFE participants, families and staff. Assists participants, families and staff in understanding more fully, life's events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being and healing. The Pastoral Minister is responsible for conducting regular communion services for LIFE participants. The pastoral Minister assists participants in their entry into the LIFE Program and their ongoing integration into LIFE.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry or related field required
  • 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • Must be active, practicing Catholic with pastoral experience marked by demonstrated grasp of both the complexity of health care as a business and the unique moral, ethical and social expectations placed on the health care provider who claims a Catholic identity
  • Well-formed in Catholic tradition, knowledge of Catholic theology and catholic social teaching
  • At least 10 years experience in one or more of the following are recommended: health care, education, mission or spiritual care

  • Strong theological reflection skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Commitment to Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services
  • Exhibits strong pastoral identity
  • Strong emotional and spiritual maturity
  • Ability to maintain professional and personal confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
  • Flexibility in work hours, programs and services
  • Ability to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to utilize computer for documentation, communication and preparation of material for ministry
  • Presentation and teaching skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate prayer/Communion services
  • Ability to provide group facilitation and critical incident stress management
  • Knowledge of Advance Directives policy and ability to facilitate discussion with participant/family

  • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs.
