Summary:

An integral component of our delivery system is the accurate, appropriate and timely recognition of revenue. The Vice President, Patient and Resident Financial Services leads the overall strategy, operations and optimization of patient/resident financial services across the enterprise. This includes oversight for patient access, charge master, charge capture, billing, follow up and collections, denials, cash processing, contract implementation, regulatory compliance, provision for charity care and bad debt processes spanning all the entities within Catholic Health. This role is accountable for guiding decisions around the necessary resources, systems, tools, processes, procedures, policies and investments to fully realize revenue associated with the patient/resident services delivered. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, Revenue Management and Advisory Services, this position will oversee the following revenue cycle operations and performance:
  • Catholic Health Acute Care Facilities
    • Mercy Hospital of Buffalo
    • Sisters Hospital
    • Sisters Hospital St. Joseph Campus
    • Kenmore Mercy Hospital
    • Mount St. Mary Hospital
  • Catholic Health Employed Physician Groups
  • Catholic Health Home and Community Based Care
  • Trinity Medical


Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree in a Finance or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • Adept at navigating technology. Experience leveraging systems to improve efficiency and maximize performance
  • Existing experience or a demonstrated interest in examining and re-engineering operations, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to make quality and metric based strategic business decisions
  • Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare financial challenges including the changing industry dynamic and the anticipated impact of reform. Ability to connect these challenges to the revenue cycle for operational improvement opportunities
  • Possesses strong project, process and change management skills and is able to prioritize and adjust based on the changing needs of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas logically, cogently and persuasively. Possesses exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking, diplomacy and relationship building required
  • Highly developed communication skills, successfully demonstrated in effectively working with a wide variety of people in both individual and group settings
