Hours: 10 hour shifts, varied 7-5, 8-6, 9-7, 10-8, 11-9
Summary:
Shares as a team member under the leadership and in collaboration with the Manager, Invasive Interventional Services, the accountability for the 24 hour management of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery, the management of human, fiscal and other resources, the development of personnel, compliance and regulatory and professional standards, strategic planning and the fostering of interdisciplinary collaborative relationships within selected area of responsibility and the health care institution as a whole.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing required, or must be actively enrolled in BSN program with completion within 3 years of assignment
- Current RN licensure in the State of New York
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification or completion of course within six (6) months of assignment
- Nationally recognized Nursing Certification obtainment within two years required
EXPERIENCE- Two (2) years of critical care nursing experience preferred
- Previous laboratory experience in interventional radiology and/or cardiology, neurology, electrophysiology preferred
- Recent experience in Cardiac Catherization Lab preferred
- Charge nurse, managerial, or supervisory experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE,SKILL AND ABILITY - Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with all levels of program personnel, as well as physicians, families, visitors and to manage the activities of a diverse group of professional, nonprofessional and clerical employees
- Possesses active listening skills
- Planning skills to develop goals and objectives in concert with those of the hospital and implements action plans to meet those goals
- Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvements as well as positive problem resolution
- Teaching abilities to promote optimum orientation and continuing education of staff
- Budgeting skills to control fiscal operations of selected unit(s) and /or area(s) of responsibility and to identify and explain variances
- Has current knowledge of health care trends and issues and relates same to hospital and work area environment
- Organization skills
- Ability to multitask and be flexible
- Able to coach, mentor and lead change in the Invasive Interventional Services and MIU
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
