Summary:
Provides confidential, technical research and analysis for the system. Responsible for managing the market research needs of the system to ensure that leadership across the system is provided with accurate market data. Responsible for creating, maintaining, updating and managing competitive databases. Conducts medical staff development planning for the system inclusive of health professional shortage area and medically underserved area analysis. Creates physician and service location maps to drive site location decision-making.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Master's degree preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years analytics experience required
- Two (2) years healthcare reimbursement knowledge preferred
- Information research and analysis experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Exceptional Microsoft Office computer skills, with at least an intermediate level in Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to manipulate and merge complex databases including VLOOKUP
- Demonstrated experience with data warehousing
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Understanding of confidential nature of planning activities and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, people and projects
- Ability to use self-initiative in completing required work load and work with little or no supervision
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Understanding in the basic concepts of statistics and numerical comparisons
- Understanding of basic concepts of healthcare finance
- Knowledge of NYS and Federal data such as SPARCS, Census, Healthcare Claims, NYAHSA systems/ databases preferred
