Hours: 8a-4p

Summary:
The Manager, Compensation is responsible for implementing and directing all aspects of the Catholic Health compensation program including salary administration, job evaluations, at-risk incentives and executive compensation. Supports the implementation of compensation programs for Trinity Medical, Sterling Surgical and Emmaus. Provides direct support to the Executive Compensation Committee and the Director, Corporate Human Resources and Trinity Medical on executive compensation. Develops and audits wage/salary policies and procedures and recommends modifications to the Director. Interprets salary surveys, monitors internal equity and market data as dictated by compensation philosophy to ensure wage competitiveness in the healthcare market. Recommends market adjustments on an annual basis. Manages the job evaluation program and process. Prepares compensation budget for system wide compensation programs. This position manages the staff and function of the compensation department and audits departmental procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal efficiency. Promotes superior customer service in all interactions, ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations such as Federal and NYS FLSA requirements, minimum wage, etc. Completes special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant course of study strongly preferred
  • Certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Certification in Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR) strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of five (5) years progressive work experience in Human Resources
  • A minimum of three (3) years compensation experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years management experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Must have solid knowledge of compensation regulatory environment and the ability to manage compensation operations
  • Demonstrated excellence in compensation analysis and modeling
  • Excellent planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing and problem solving skills with a focus on the generation of innovative solutions/options in a fast-pace environment
  • Strong detail orientation and critical thinking skills a must
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing critical initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, verbal communication skills, written communication skills and PC skills
  • The ability to interface and liaison with all levels of management and employees
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Lawson and Kronos a plus
