7-3, 8-4, 9-5, 10-6, 11-7, 12-8

JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse Staffing Lead must utilize clinical judgement in assisting with staffing decisions.They will work together with the nurse managers and supervisors to ensure staffing is assigned based on ratios and unit acuity.They will collaborate with ancillary departments such as the transfer center, the ED and the OR to anticipate fluctuations in census for the units.As a professional nurse, the RN Staffing Lead participates in creating and maintaining an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.The RN Staffing Lead must possess critical thinking skills and excellent communication skills in order to work in partnership with nursing leadership and staff throughout the hospital.

The RN Staffing Lead is responsible for centralized scheduling and maintaining schedule changes.The lead must ensure all associate information is accurately entered into Kronos, and any schedule changes are transcribed onto staffing sheets, while updating daily needs. The RN Staffing Lead will directly supervise the staffing clerks and staffing coordinators as well as the performance related to their roles and responsibilities.Supervisory duties will be to ensure all of the tasks listed below are being completed consistently and accurately.The RN Staffing Lead must be capable and competent in completing all tasks that the staffing clerks are responsible to complete.In addition, the RN lead must be able to train and on board new associates as needed.

EDUCATION


  • Registered Nurse must be currently licensed in New York State
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing currently registered in New York State
  • BLS validation and revalidation in accordance to AHA standards


  • EXPERIENCE
  • At least two (2) years as an RN (acute care/hospital experience preferred)


  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities
  • Competent in current healthcare technology
  • Actively involved in productivity and staffing
  • Kronos experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good mathematical aptitude
  • Critical thinking
  • Must have good communication and people skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality


  • WORKING CONDITIONS:

    •The ability to cope with stress and handle multiple priorities is required

    •Office environment
