Work Schedule: Evenings
Hours: Monday through Friday-3:00pm to 11:00pm
Summary:
Insures secure and safe conditions for employees, patients and visitors. Protects hospital building and premises.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION- High School or equivalent required
- Valid current NYS driver's License required. Must report any moving violations to department head within (7) days of conviction
- Security Guard License required upon completion of training course
- Current documented security training course as required by New York State
EXPERIENCE- Oriented by another security guard before commencing work
- Three (3) months previous experience in security operations preferred
- CPR helpful
- Criminal justice law enforcement or related field preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY - Must be able to read reports and instructions
- Must be able to communicate in writing and orally

- Answer telephones
- Input data into computer programs

- Two way radio for communication

WORKING CONDITIONS- Exposed to dangers of assaults/hazards from investigating alarms
- Occasionally subject to violent acts from visitors or patients
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- Frequently moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold or extreme heat
- Occasionally exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens, housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat
- May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
- Occasionally may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
- Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases
- May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions
VACCINE REQUIREMENTS
- Effective January 1st 2022, you must be fully vaccinated with an FDA COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of your vaccination status as part of your new employee pre-boarding. Exceptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement may be granted for medical reasons.
