Summary:
Primarily responsible for leading projects for the laboratory quality department to improve performance. Will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, basic statistical analysis and developing and maintaining complex reports. Individual will generate laboratory policies surrounding quality improvement initiatives. The individual will be expected to work with lean six-sigma tools & methods to determine root cause and drive improvement. Presentation of data findings and reports to laboratory and system level departments to assist in education.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- Associates Degree in medical technology, healthcare or process improvement related field required, or in lieu of degree, two (2) years of experience as a Laboratory Quality Specialist II
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Lean six-sigma green belt preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years of experience in a Lab setting preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Working knowledge of LIS/HIS
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel functions & formula generation
- Clear understanding of medical terminology & laboratory processes
- SQL report generation experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize workflow based on needs of department
- Possess the initiative and ability to work independently on performance improvement projects
- Ability to use laboratory information system & Microsoft excel efficiently, including demonstration of ability to generate complex formulas in excel
- Understanding of basic statistics & statistical analysis software
- Knowledge & understanding of laboratory workflow & general processes
- Excellent oral & written communication skills

- Travel to various CH sites as needed
