Status: Part Time w/Benefits FTE: 0.400000

Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates

Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes

Work Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation

Hours:
7-3, 8-4, 9-5

Summary:

Collaborates with members of the Health Care Team to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) through the Nutrition Care Process. Assess nutritional needs and identifies nutrient requirement especially for the critically ill, metabolically stressed individual. Develops and implements nutrition support care plan for all assigned patients. Foster continuity of care among all phases across the continuum of care. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of nutrition support. Provides care according to A.S.P.E.N. Standards of Practice for Nutrition Support Dietitians. Participates in performance improvement and research activities. Actively assesses/evaluates and remains current in professional development and competency related to the competencies outline in the position description.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • BS degree in Nutrition/Dietetics plus internship or other traineeship/education to meet requirements for registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Registration with CDR as a Registered Dietitian
  • Master's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics preferred
  • Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist with the State of New York to be obtained within 1st year of employment. Maintains certification in Nutrition Support with American society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition (CNSC)

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum, one (1) year experience in Acute Care

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Must have basic computer skills

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May be required to travel to other CHS sites
  • May include evening work, weekends and holidays

VACCINE REQUIREMENTS
