Job Description

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or graduate of an accredited/approved School/Program of Sonography.
• Must become registered/certified as a Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT (S)within six (6) months of hire with a one-time option to extend the time frame for acquiring certification for an additional six (6) months as long as associate has made progress to secure his/her certification. Registration/certification is attained by passing both the Physics Examination (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation) and one (1) of the Specialty Examinations (Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neurosonology, or Obstetrics & Gynecology).
• ARDMS/ARRT registration as a diagnostic, medical, sonographer must be maintained to keep the job status of Certified Ultrasound Technologist (labor grade 14).
• Must become Registered as a Vascular Technologist with one of the following credentialing organizations within nine (9) months of hire:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Vascular Sonography RT(VS)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
  • Upon successful completion of RVT registration, associate will be upgraded to RVT/Grade 15 position
  • Associate will be subject to termination if they fail to become registered within nine (9) months of hire
• BLS Preferred

• Pre-Hire Experience- One (1) year working experience as Ultrasound Staff Technologist or six (6) to twelve (12) months clinical experience in an intern/externship of an accredited Ultrasonography Program.
• Post-Hire Experience- Within three (3) months employee should be able to perform in an acceptable manner.

• Good, general health. Performs duties while standing and walking most of the day. Pushes, pulls and lifts patients and equipment frequently.
